About the Role
The Company is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to join its in-house legal team and provide high-quality legal support for a wide range of mission-related activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for external partnership and grantmaking strategy and agreements, intellectual property strategy and license agreements, legal and organizational compliance, risk management, and commercial contracting. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the company's legal framework aligns with its goals of transforming education to work pathways and driving better outcomes for learners. Applicants for the Deputy General Counsel position at the company should have a J.D. with 10-15+ years of experience as a transactional lawyer, with a preference for those who have worked at a top US law firm and/or company. The role requires a professional with a strong background in legal and organizational compliance, risk management, and commercial contracting, particularly in the context of the company's mission to facilitate collaboration and innovations in the education sector. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling complex legal matters and be able to contribute to the development of legal strategies that support the company's objectives.
