To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you'll be doing As a Hedge Fund Portfolio Manager, you will perform investment research across all hedge fund strategies globally. Responsibilities include conducting qualitative and quantitative due diligence on hedge fund and private credit strategies/managers, developing new investment themes, sourcing and analyzing new strategies, managing incumbent managers, and overseeing hedge fund portfolios. Innovation and continuous improvement in research are highly valued. You will work closely with relationship management and business development teams to provide sound investment management and advisory services, and contribute to new strategy and fund development. How you'll succeed Conduct extensive qualitative and quantitative due diligence on investment strategies and external managers. Develop and implement methodologies for managing and analyzing investment portfolios. Source and analyze new themes, strategies, and managers. Support senior management with research, analytical reports, and presentations. Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Business Development Officers to provide manager information and portfolio ideas. Assist in writing white papers and educational/marketing content. Manage risk by ensuring compliance with regulatory, compliance, and fiduciary controls. Promote a positive organizational culture through collaborative behaviors. Continuously seek process improvements and innovative solutions. Who you are Graduate degree (MBA preferred) in finance, math, science, or related fields. CFA designation preferred but not required. 15+ years of experience as an investment portfolio manager focusing on hedge fund strategies. Excellent communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, FactSet, and financial data analysis. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Effective project management and leadership abilities.
