Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Manager to manage accurate and timely payroll processing for both hourly and salaried employees. This role will oversee colleague requisition forms, maintain payroll systems, and work closely with Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all payroll-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day payroll transactions and maintain accurate records in the payroll system
  • Review and verify payroll authorizations and approvals in line with company policy
  • Audit timecards to ensure accuracy prior to processing
  • Prepare overtime schedules and verify against authorized documentation
  • Execute bi-weekly payroll processing efficiently, ensuring approvals and statements are completed prior to submission
  • Process payroll adjustments (e.g., overtime, deductions, expense claims) as required
  • Prepare final settlements for departing employees, ensuring compliance with clearance procedures
  • Post journal entries and prepare monthly payroll reconciliation and variance reports
  • Maintain accurate headcount reports and distribute service charge calculations
  • Prepare payroll provisions including vacation pay, incentives, and long-service awards
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources and other departments to resolve payroll-related issues
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and local regulations
  • Identify and recommend improvements to payroll processes and systems
  • Maintain and update payroll SOPs and process documentation as needed
  • Provide payroll-related data for budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of payroll and financial information at all times
  • Stay current on laws, regulations, and best practices impacting payroll

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of payroll experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines
  • Proficiency with payroll/HR systems preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Hospitality industry payroll experience strongly preferred
