Overview of the Role:

The Sr Director of Product Design will lead design strategy and execution for Slack's Growth Design team, focusing on helping more people discover, adopt, and get value from Slack, owning the user journey from teams starting free to upgrading into paid teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end experience for Growth, from first touch to long-term retention, ensuring every interaction is cohesive, intuitive, and delightful.
  • Lead a world-class team of designers fostering a culture of creativity, craft, high-performance and experimentation.
  • Drive experimentation at scalepartnering with data and product teams to define hypotheses, execute A/B tests, and iterate quickly based on results.
  • Balance art and sciencegrounding design decisions in user insights, analytics, and business objectives while pushing for innovation.
  • Champion the customerbring deep empathy for users into strategic conversations, ensuring our growth tactics are human-centered.
  • Drive the design vision and strategy for Growth initiatives, balancing rapid experimentation with deep commitment to craft and high quality design standars
  • Develop frameworks for measuring design impact and making data-informed decisions
  • Mentor and grow leadersdevelop the next generation of design managers and senior ICs, raising the bar for craft and impact.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in product design, with at least 5 years leading multi-disciplinary design teams at scale.
  • Proven track record in growth, subscription, or retention-focused product design.
  • Experience integrating A/B testing and experimentation into the design process.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design leadership and impact in complex, data-informed environments.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skillsable to inspire teams and influence executives.
  • A collaborative mindset, with experience working closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Data Science.
  • Passion for developing people and cultivating a high performing, healthy, inclusive team culture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience/Knowledge of Salesforces CRM or other clouds
  • Experience designing for Sales or CRM focused products
  • Prototyping abilities either through tools, code or vibe coding
